High Gradient Magnetic Separation of small (5-38 µm) weakly magnetic copper mineral particles from a copper concentrate and ore has been performed.
The average grade of copper ores in the 21st century is below 0.6% copper, with a proportion of economic ore minerals (including copper) being less than 2% of the total volume of the ore rock. A key objective in the metallurgical treatment of any ore is the separation of ore minerals from gangue minerals within the rock.
Carrier magnetic separation has been proposed for more effective separation of water and solids from acid mine water to generate very pure water (Feng et al., 2000). As discussed in Chapter 10,dissolved heavy metals like zinc and copper can be recovered from acid mine drainage (AMD) by selective precipitation controlling the pH for the precipitation of specific metals.
High Gradient Magnetic Separation of small (5-38 µm) weakly magnetic copper mineral particles from a copper concentrate and ore has been performed. In previous work coarser fractions of these minerals, bornite and chalcopyrite, were separated successfully. The recovery of the smaller particles in the magnetic fraction decreases but their grade increases compared to the results obtained on the

It consists of a large electromagnet, through which mineral mixtures are passed on a metal trough. By varying the strength of the magnetic field or the slope of the tough, different minerals can be separated. The magnetic separation process is widely used in recycling, the chemical industry, and mining.
copper flotation tailings by magnetic separation technology to. ore will be processed at the 15mt a year capacity processing plant located adjacent to the open pit mine, which will house crushing, grinding, flotation and magnetic separation facilities to produce copper gold concentrates.
Apr 29, 2015· Magnetic separation is the process of using magnetic force to remove metallic or ferrous materials from a mixture. Magnetic separation machines consist of a vibratory feeding mechanism, an upper and lower belt and a magnet. The bulk material is fed through the vibrating mechanism onto the lower belt. At this point, the magnet pulls any material

Valence copper was recovered from wastewater by chemical reduction and use of a high gradient magnetic separation (HGMS) system. At flow rates of 40, 60, 80 and 100 cm3/min, capture efficiencies for metallic copper in the absence of magnetic field were 87%, 86%, 63%, and 39%, respectively, and in the presence of magnetic
