My old 2.5" Keene crash box has a 10" sluice. If I doubled the size of the dredge to a 5", then I have to slow and get rid of 4 times as much water. Double again to 10" and I'm faced with 16 times as much water. Logic would tell me that I need 16X the sluice width to keep the water depth in the sluice the same for the 10" as the 2.5".
