The tool post grinder would need to have an adapter with collets to fit the shanks which are usually 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, & 3/8. I made an adapter for my tool post grinder that uses 1/8 so I can use the small mounted wheels

Grind with wheel rotation opposite part rotation if possible. I'd start at 50FPM on the part surface, see how it cuts/looks, increase if necessary. For a .600" bore that'd be around 320 RPM.

Back in my day I was often asked to test wheels for Bay state, Norton, Clipper and other wheel makers because i did a lot of grinding and would give a honest test report. mostly for green and diamond wheels. don’t know anybody not.
