Make sure it sits tight and solid and secure. Glue one of the 30mm to 20 mm reducers into the medium sized reducers. Let it harden. Press fit (ONLY, DO NOT GLUE) assembly as shown. Make sure that the washers are tightly pushed together and held firmly by the Off cut and reducer. If not, you stuffed up. (Cut a bit off the 40 mm pipe.)
To create the pump section, take the 24" long 1/2" pipe and pit the 1/2" elbow on one end. Then put the 1-1/4" cap with the hole drilled in it over the pipe. Then, place the 1/2" slip to 1/2" thread bushing onto the end. Take the pipe insulation and place it over the threads, then screw on the 1/2" cap. This creates the seal needed for the pump.

Here's an easy project: really all you need is a piece of pipe about 10 inches long and of the right diameter to fit in your dredge hose. Simply take one end of the pipe and saw cut the pipe about every quarter inch. Take a hammer and gently tap the pieces down to form a cone on the tip.
Cut some hardware cloth of whatever mesh you want to the same diameter as your plastic pipe. Heat the bottom end of the pipe on an old hot plate or wood stove. When the plastic starts to melt, take it off and set it on the wire cloth. The plastic will solidify and "weld" the screen to the bottom of the pipe.
