It begins with two Landis Brothers, Franklin and Abraham. In the 1870s, Frank, a manufacturing engineer, designed a cylindrical grinder which Abe developed and patented. In 1889, they started Landis Brothers to manufacture the grinder. The company later became Landis Tool Co. which operated at capacity making their patented grinding machines.

Chaser Grinding Fixture For use on surface, universal tool, and cutter grinders, the No. 15 and No. 20 fixtures are used to grind the cutting angles on Landis die head chasers. The No. 15 die head chaser fixture and No. 15T tap chaser fixture use a common base that allows the same fixture to grind both types of chasers when appropriate auxiliary equipment is added.

Aug 10, 2016· Hi everyone, I am doing some reconditioning on a Landis Cyl. Grinder at Minnesota Grinding, here in MN. The machine is a a 22 x 88" serial number 19 1,it says war finish and I think I checked and it's a 1942.
