Rolling mill vibration is no different. The most damaging modes of mill vibration involve some very specific natural resonances of the mill stand. If no structural resonances are excited then the vibration amplitude is simply a consequence of the way the mill responds to a cyclic exciting force acting at a particular location within the mill.
